Materials: Copper + 24ct Gold Leaf Dimensions: 10cm wide x 4cm deep A square, etched, copper dish with a gold-leafed line showing the route taken by my parents when my mother was pregnant with me. They passed the door of the house I was to move to 40 years later. Many years after they had both died I found the road map they had used, marked with their route, when packing my belongings to move to the house. Photo credit: Erika Marks Erika Marks Carrick-on-Shannon, Roscommon. Ireland Brought up in Norway and living since childhood in Ireland my mind has always been fascinated by history and primitive work. Influenced also by the idea of mapping and cartography my work has recently followed 2 main courses - an autobiographical exploration of places and the paths taken in life, and making symbolic vessels and implements for commissioning clients.
